Photobacterium phosphoreum (Vibrio phosphoreum) is another type of marine bacteria.  1-7 day old colonies grown at 20 degrees Celcius,  exhibit extremely bright luminescence.  Petri-plate cultures or flasks can even be used as torches or reading lights in total darkness.  After a couple of weeks on sea water yeast-peptone agar, the light decreases and tends to remain bright around the growing edges of colonies.
